Nexperia's China unit declared operational independence from its Dutch parent following government intervention over technology leakage fears. The Chinese subsidiary emphasized its autonomous management structure, employee loyalty to local leadership, and independent payroll systems in an October 18 WeChat statement.

Supply chain tensions intensified when China's commerce ministry blocked Nexperia's chip exports on October 4, disrupting global automotive and electronics manufacturers. European automakers Volkswagen and BMW are conducting emergency supply chain audits as 70% of Nexperia's Hamburg-produced chips require final packaging in China's Guangdong province.
